New Business
New Sheriff's Office rep: Force Tolar introduced himself as the new Sheriff Office representative, replacing Alex Fuller. He used to represent MSU PD before moving to the SO last year and attended the 2007 MADD conference.

Safety check: Jenna visited the MHP safety check on July 4th and 5th. It was held in conjunction with the Sheriffís Office. It seemed a strong team effort and provided a quite visible presence.  MADD provided food and refreshments both days.  Force suggested that next year there be extra patrols on the weekend of the Livingston rodeo.

Marketing
July 4th: Community Service MIP youth put up July 4th posters and Jenna put up some at the Fairgrounds before the fireworks display on the 4th

Update on Music on Main
The PD will be putting up a hard boundary for the event to let people know they cannot have open container outside that boundary.
The wrist bands the Task Force purchased are not working as well as hoped. Someone was arrested for underage drinking who was wearing one. They they can be slipped off.
Only those that may not actually look 21 were given wrist bands because there weren't enough of them purchased.

Sweet Pea Festival: Jenna presented an option for special-price radio advertising.  The group decided that Sweet Pea is not a high-priority event for DUI-prevention messages and opted to focus on the back-to-school classified ad campaign.
Back to School: Susan motioned to approve $450 for the annual back-to-school classified ad campaign. Bob seconded. Unanimous approval.

Annual report. Jenna has not started working on it yet. Itís due in August.

Regional DUI Task Force meeting:   Jenna reported on the meeting in Great Falls. Lonie Hutchinson is the State DUI Task Force Coordinator, under contract with the Department of Transportation. Discussed activities of some of the Task Forces present and changes to the Responsible Beverage Service training at the state level.

Finances
Jenna told the group she did not want to attend the MADD conference this year. She hopes to find different kinds of information at the Lifesavers Conference that will be held in March of.  She did make suggestions to MADD about law enforcement that might be interested in attending, including NPS Bonnie Gaffney.

Meeting Adjourned at 7:10 p.m.  Per tradition, there will not be an August meeting
